Evgeniia Tokarchuk

Hi there. I am Evgeniia Tokarchuk. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the Language Technology Lab, University of Amsterdam. I am honored to be supervised by Dr. Vlad Niculae. My research interests at the moment include (but not limited to) generative (language) modeling, machine translation, probabilistic modeling and geometry-aware approaches.

I got my master’s degree at RWTH Aachen University. There I’ve started my research path at the Human Language Technology and Pattern Recognition Group. My master thesis “Tight Model Integration for Pivot-based Neural Machine Translation” was a result of collaboration with the eBay Aachen. I was blessed to have great mentors and collaborators.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and traveling. Recently I’ve joined Dutch Haedong Kumdo Association and started Korean traditional archery. It’s my new passion. I’m also involved in local volunteering initiative aiming to support Ukraine πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦
